Oct 18, 2009 at 7:25 PM I was able to only attend on Saturday. I drove down from Massachusetts specifically for this conference. I had a really great time and really wished I had stayed for day two. I was truly impressed by the quality of speakers who attended.
As for classes I attended two, "ColdFusion One-Liners" and "Hand on ColdFusion". The onle-Liners course was very good and I appreciated Sean Corfield's enthusiasm. I did feel that it could've been longer however. Even with a good amount of technical difficulties in the beginning he finshed more than 10 minutes early. I suggest that maybe he provides more time in between each "one-liner" for people to copy the code since it wasn't provided on paper. I also think that it may be useful to show on some examples how much code would be needed to do that same thing using another language such as ASP or PHP.
The "Hands-On" class was very well done. Josh Adams did a fantastic job in my opinion. He was very attentive to everyone's needs and though we each had different problems he was very willing to work with each of us no matter what the problem was. My only suggestion would be the code examples provided are really complex for "beginners". We all found ourselves copying and pasting the code in to CF Builder because there wasn't nearly enough time to type it in. I don't feel like I learned the lessons. they were more as a demonstration to the power of CF.
The entire conference was very professional and I commend all of the volunteers. I will absolutely make the drive down again next year and will stay both days this time.
Thank you everyone for an inspiring event.
