Recent CFinNC communication patterns

Add comments

I fielded a comment from someone this afternoon who exclaimed that CFinNC had not responded to his email. While certainly possible, (hey, conference planning is hard work) we take all communications seriously and strive to provide the best possible effort for our prospects, attendees, presenters and sponsors. We've been getting and replying to tons of emails over the last few months!

So after getting more information, it turns out the potential attendee used the contact form on http://www.cfinnc.com/page.cfm/contact-us. I immediately tested this to find that the form is broken. For some reason, all email sent from that form has gone to the undeliverable folder. Yep, all 168 of them.

Now, this is an embarrassing thing for a technical conference to somehow not get emails submitted from their own website. Even more embarrassing when it was 168 queries from the public. Sure one or two were offers for v1@gra or announcements that we'd won the European Lottery and only needed to wire $6k to collect our prize, but most of them (well over a hundred) were from good honest people who either wanted to come to CFinNC or sponsor the proceedings in some way.

So, we apologize to the everyone for the mishap. I'm going through the list now and replying to each and every communication we missed. It might be too late for the information to matter to the original sender, but it is the right thing to do.

Apologies,

--CFinNC Leadership--
